Xiaomi has so far been my best bet when it comes to affordable smart devices that offers well beyond their price point and the latest Xiaomi Redmi 9c is no different. While the Redmi 9c will not impress everyone, it definitely has its eyes set on a specific niche that would appreciate what they’ll be getting at a sub Ksh.15,000 price point.
A 6.53inch HD+ panel is worth trying out for the price point
I’ve always been a fan of high-res panels; in fact, this has been my number one core feature shadowing any other aspect of a smartphone. We don’t really get what I’d call award-worth panel on this device, but given the price-point, I’m a bit forgiving and most of us would find the respective panel usable. On the brighter-side, at least we get a large 6.53inch real-estate that would do justice for content consumption and a 720×1600 pixels resolution is way above what we’re officially supposed to call HD.
A large 5000mAh battery should last till end of the day
The first time I had a serious look at what Xiaomi was offering with the 9c, it was so obvious the company had emphasized more on the battery life than anything else. We loved seeing a top-tier spec trickle down in a budget device, and those of us who put reliability of their phone’s battery life beyond anything else should rejoice in this handset.
Internal Storage and RAM
When it comes to the Xiaomi 9c’s memory matters, the company is offering two options at almost similar price point. There’s one with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage that’s going for Ksh. 10,999 and another one with 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage going for Ksh. 12,599. Looking at both options, I highly recommend topping up the difference and instead get the 3GB, 64GB model. Performance will be better thanks to a 1Gig more RAM and you could definitely use the extra storage.
Cameras
There’s a single 5MP selfie camera on the front and a triple-camera setup at the back consisting of 13MP primary sensor, 2MP Macro and 2MP depth sensor.
