Standard chartered bank customers will be offered solar energy and water treatment equipment from Davis and Shirtliff at subsidized rates thanks to the partnership forged between the two organizations. This move is aimed at promoting transition to cleaner technologies by the bank’s customers that will see a low carbon and more resilient future. It’s one of those vital initiatives that aim to better current business practices with more climate friendly alternatives.
From the partnership, Standard Chartered Bank customers will access credit facilities from the lender at discounted rates that will in turn enable them purchase solar energy and water treatment equipment from one of East Africa’s leading Water and Energy Solutions provider – Davis & Shirtliff. In the arrangement, StanChart bank customers will be offered up to 25 percent discounts on the products within the portfolio payable in 12-month repayment plan.
Speaking on the move, Standard Chartered Kenya CEO Ngari Kariuki said the partnership would introduce the first sustainable finance retail product that will better the livelihoods of retail clients across the continent. Kariuki further said the lender will avail personal loans and credit cards to customers at a discounted rate aimed at acquiring solar water heaters and water treatment solutions.
said Davis & Shirtliff Group Chairman Alec Davis on his part noted that environmental protection was critical to life and to creating a more sustainable world. He further stated that several factors from climate change, urbanization, pollution and other factors had collectively put millions of lives at risk and holding back social and economic progress.
Clean energy solutions offered in the arrangement
From the initative, customers will have an opportunity to acquire a range of items from Davis & Shirtliff which include; Ultrasun UFS Flat plate solar hot water systems that’s available in various tank sizes and collector configurations to suit domestic and small-scale institutional applications. In addition, various items from the organization will be offered at reduced prices that range from smart water purifiers for home and industrial use.
