OPPO recently unveiled its hyped OPPO watch in the country alongside the Reno4 smartphone, both devices are currently on preorder and customers can get the latest OPPO watch for Ksh.24,000. Customers who take advantage of the preorder period will also receive a free OPPO branded backpack. The company has now unveiled yet another model of its top-rated wearable, but now with an electrocardiogram feature.
While everything seemed rosy and elegant on the OPPO Watch – more details can be found on our previous editorial here, there were some notable features missing from what we’d have expected from the likes of an Apple Watch. The smart wearable went as far as mimicking Apple’s design though with Google’s wear OS underneath and has since attracted more fans than what analysts expected. It totally seemed like consumers were eager on enjoying Apple’s design language but with a touch of Google’s software underneath.
The OPPO Watch ECD edition packs the same specs featured in the earlier models but with an electrocardiogram feature. In a nutshell, users of the new model will be able to measure their heart’s activities and get recommendations as to whether they’ll need a doctor’s attention or if they’re on a healthier side.
The electrocardiogram feature has had major success across the world with the Apple watch managing to save lives by warning of an imminent heart attack. And while the earlier models are available in two sizes, 46mm and 41mm, the ECD edition will sell in 46mm size only. The new model is already on sale in China for USD 366 (around Ksh. 37,000), but there’s no word on global availability.
As earlier mentioned, the ECD model packs the same hardware as earlier wearables from OPPO; featuring a 1.91-inch AMOLED panel with a 402×476 screen resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2500 SoC and an Apollo 3 co-processor. It’s also powered by the same ColorOS Watch based on Android and comes with a 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
Powering the wearable is a 430mAh battery that’s touted to last 40 hours with regular use and 21 days on the power saver mode. Users will be able to charge the smartwatch in no time, thanks to the VOOC fast charging technology.
