OPPO officially introduces the OPPO Reno4 in Kenya, to retail at Ksh. 39,999

OPPO has launched the Reno4 in Kenya in an online event that was officiated by OPPO Kenya’s Product Manager Mr. Ernest Teigut. Teigut took the opportunity to highlight OPPO’s success in the country over the years after initially entering the market. In his remarks, Ernest said the Reno4 was intended to offer users with better experience.

OPPO Reno4’s design was motivated to offer users with an exciting experience the product manager says will maximize their artistic experience to the fullest. It comes with a slim industrial design while maintaining an exquisite back cover the company calls Reno glow. It basically references to the mate finish with a subtle glittery chassis that offers a more vibrant look that bring about that premium feeling.  

The handset comes with a 6.4-inch dual punch hole display panel that despite the cutouts, it still manages to cover 90.7 percent of the front. It’s basically a few of those handsets that opts for an AMOLED panel instead of the more traditional IPS. Colors are therefore very saturated and blacks should remain truly black since each pixel lights itself and remain shut in case of a black background. It has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels which way above what you’ll expect on a standard HD panel. Text should therefore look crisper and images more vibrant.

In terms of photography, Reno4 has a new feature tied to the portrait functionality that makes backgrounds appear in black and white while the subject remains in color, this is possible while using back and front cameras whether taking a photo or video. The front selfie camera comes with a 32MP sensor while the primary quad camera setup has a 48MP main sensor, 8MP Ultrawide, 2MP Macro and 2MP Depth sensor. The handset also comes with a monochrome video mode that basically captures videos in a single color. You just have to choose the color to be retained and everything else will remain in black and white.

There are also a couple of feature additions such as smart spying sensor that will basically check if someone else is peeking at the display and automatically hide details of any notification popping on the screen. Call it a gimmick but I think some of us could use such an innovative feature based on artificial intelligence mechanism. Other features include a 4015mAh battery, 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Comes with a color OS 7.2.
