New Telkom Kenya subscribers to receive 1.5GB data; here is how to get the offer

Telkom Kenya is looking to entice new customers to join its network with an interesting welcome offer of data bundles and affordable call rates. The new offer will be available to any Kenyan joining the network as long as they purchase a minimum airtime credit of Ksh 20 for the first three months. The move follows a cut throat market segment that has seen revenues coming from voice and text messages shrink among industry players.

The new offer is only valid for customers who are joining the network for the very first time in their life, meaning you can’t buy several sim cards to continue enjoying the welcome free data bundles offer. Customers also need to be joining the prepaid segment. The move to reward customers with data bundles is most likely to appeal to youths who are keen to surf the internet and might be looking for a service provider especially after completing their education.

How to get free 1.5GB data bundles on the Telkom Kenya network

• First, you’ll need to ensure that you are joining the provider for the very first time
• Once you purchase a SIM card, recharge with at least Ksh. 20 to access a total of 500MB data for the first three months.
• You’ll also enjoy affordable cross network voice calls at only Ksh 2 per minute valid for 90 days

Speaking on the new welcome offer campaign, Telkom Kenya’s Director of Marketing Eric Ochola said that customers joining the Telkom family will experience the telcos voice and data propositions at an introductory offer before making a decision on their long-term bundle of choice.

Telkom has some interesting prepaid data offers including VAS products such as: the Mzito bundle, the PAWA bundle, and the ShowMax Pro Mobile Data.  

Recently, the company partnered with Huawei, Infinix, Xiaomi and Tecno brands to unveil a variety of products that gave customers the option of taking advantage of a variety of competitively priced Internet-enabled devices, ranging between KSh.13,000- KSh30,000.
