Infinix Zero 8 is here with us, and it packs some top-level specs you really need to check it out. Days after Tecno unveiled the Camon 16 Premier series, Infinix has followed closely with a similarly equipped device that features a 48MP dual selfie camera setup, 64MP rear quad-camera, a 90Hz display panel and a 33W charger. It should be noted that both Infinix and Tecno brands are owned by the same parent company Transsion, so there could be a lot of similarities between their latest and greatest handsets.
What do we get with the Infinix Zero 8
The front panel features a 6.85inch FHD+ panel that houses a set of two selfie cameras in a hole punch cutout rather than a notch. The panel is said to support a 90Hz refresh rate meaning scrolling through items and playing games on the device should be a smooth endeavor compared to traditional 60Hz. The front selfies include a standard 48MP focal sensor and an 8MP wide angle camera that would come in handy when taking those group selfies.
The rear panel is flagged by a set of four cameras; 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultrawide sensor and two 2MP depth cameras. The rear camera cutout sort of resembles a diamond shape rather than what we’ve got used to from other devices which embraces either a circular design or a rectangular one. And just like the Tecno Camon 16 Premier, the selfies are equipped with dual LED flash while primary sensors come with a quad LED flash setup.
What is New?
Unlike Infinix models that came before Zero 8, there’s quite a number of additions on the latest device but we are going to focus on the 90Hz refresh rate on the screen and what exactly it offers since its one area that we’re just getting used to. The Zero 8 comes with 90Hz option selected out of the box, but there are three options; the latest 90Hz option, 60Hz option and auto switch refresh rate.
The beauty of having such an elevated refresh rate is an overall smooth experience when using the device, there are a few games that can utilize such a setup and you can always choose between the options for a couple of objectives such as a 90Hz to get the ultimate experience, 60Hz to save battery and Auto to jump between the options.
The fingerprint sensor is side mounted, something I’ve come to prefer than rear mounted sensors, but you’ll also have an option for face unlock if its something you want to use. Under the hood is Helio G90T soc, 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage and can support up to 2TB MicroSD card if you’ll ever need it.
