Nokia has finally pioneered its Windows Phone mobile portfolio with two new handsets featuring some of the flourished features in the industry. The handset maker has been pro windows on its high-end smart phones and Symbian on its low-end phones despite the continued popularity of Google’s Android based devices. Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 have put to rest rumors and anxiety previously witnessed after the handset maker and Microsoft signed a deal the would see Nokia manufacture devices running on Microsoft’s latest handset operating system. It is highly anticipated Windows Phone 7 based devices will offer a stiffer competition to Android OS especially after Google unveiled v2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. Nokia Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 were officially unveiled during the Nokia World show.

As stated above, Nokia Lumia 800 is powered by Windows Phone v7.5 Mango operating system and houses flourished features such as a 3.7 inch clear AMOLED display panel and 16GB internal storage capacity. On top of the onboard storage memory, Nokia Lumia 800 users will be offered an additional 25GB free cloud storage capacity from Microsoft. Although Lumia 800’s display screen is slightly less than that of N9, both siblings operate on a Micro SIM card. As expected, it has an 8.0-Megapixel display panel coupled by auto-focus and Dual led flash rhyming with other devices in its genre. Nokia Lumia 800 is powered by a 1.4GHz single core processor and has 512MB RAM.

Nokia Lumia 710 shares a significant level of resemblance to its Lumia 800 sibling in terms of processor speed, RAM and screen size: it features same 1.4GHz single core processor, 512RAM and a 3.7inch display panel; however, unlike its sibling, Nokia Lumia 710 features a TFT screen instead. It has a 5.0-Megapixel camera coupled by auto-focus capability; unlike 800 which boast of dual led flash, Nokia Lumia 710 has a single led flash. The main difference between the two devices is screen technology, storage capacity and camera though 800 is highly priced than Lumia 710. Nokia Lumia 710 comes with interchangeable back covers allowing users to select the color of their preference.
