While everyone is focusing on the top tier of the smartphone market, HMD Global, the company behind Nokia’s resurrection has unveiled something for those not no so power users. Refreshing it’s slowly becoming popular lineup among budget consumers, HMD global introduced the Nokia 6 2018 version, which made it’s official debut at the mobile world congress trade show in Barcelona. According to HMD’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas, we should expect to see the handset somewhere around April (give or take) with an expected price cap of Ksh. 25,000 in Kenya.
During his explanation at the launch event, Sarvikas noted that the open market was growing and that’s why the company decided not to partner with any carrier in particular. Nokia 6 2018 version wasn’t the only smartphone announced at the World Mobile Congress – reason why it must have slipped through fingers of many unnoticed. In fact, it’s more powerful sibling Nokia 8 Siroco was announced at the same event. It come with Google’s stripped-down Android One OS – basically an unmodified version of android operating system that’s intended to provide a consistent user experience and improved security through frequent updates.
Nokia 6 – 2018 is a direct successor to the Nokia 6 – 2017 of last year (though they share the same name) bu now features a USB Type-C connection, fast charging, a more powerful Snapdragon 630 processor and a variety of new color options to choose from. Its 16-megapixel rear camera is backed by Zeiss optics and there’s an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for all your selfies.

In addition to the 6, HMD unveiled the larger, 6-inch Nokia 7 as well. It features a fingerprint reader and two rear cameras. Nokia 6 2018 is expected to cost around Kenya shillings 25,000 once available in Kenya.
