A Chinese based communications technology giant Huawei has unveiled the first ever LTE TDD multi-mode data card which is expected to be available starting the third quarter of 2011. Huawei E392 supports LTE TDD/UMTS/GSM/CDMA networks providing the much needed compatibility on different network platforms. In Kenya, four mobile service providers; Safaricom, Airtel, Orange and Yu operate on GSM platform while Telkom Kenya which is allied to Orange utilizes CDMA technology to offer services to its subscribers.
