HTC is making good use of its Sensation’s popularity by introducing variant products targeting various market segments across the globe. Latest developments from the handset maker has witnessed the introduction of HTC Sensation XL following in the footsteps of its sibling Sensation XE though with a modest single core 1.5GHz processor speed contrary to its sibling’s dual core 1.5GHz processor. Consumers have also admitted seeing major similarities between HTC Sensation XL and its Windows Phone powered sibling HTC Titan in terms of Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset that features a 1.5GHz processor and Adreno 205 GPU. Just like other Beats enhanced handsets from the manufacturer, HTC Sensation XL features the Beats audio enhancements and a unique pair of Beats headphones that are shipped in its retail package.
Despite its
XE sibling having an upper hand on processor speed, HTC Sensation XL comes with a larger 4.7 inch S-LCD, WVGA display screen (0.4inch larger than XE to be precise). On top of that, XL’s display panel is further enhanced by a gorilla glass panel known for its resistance to scratches inflicted especially due to mishandling. Although the two handsets differ in most aspects, they also have some similarities such as an 8.0-Megapixel camera that features 28mm wide angle lens and bright F/2.2 lens; these features dramatically improves the handsets low-light performance, they are also capable of recording 720p HD quality video clips. In addition, HTC Sensation XL runs on Android v Gingerbread operating system; despite its single core’s processor speed, the handset should be in a position to handle almost all Android apps though you won’t have bragging rights against your peers with dual core devices. Apparently, incorporation of Beats audio enhancements seems to be the major selling point for this device.
Apart from the rear facing 8.0-Megapixel camera, HTC Sensation XL houses an additional front facing 1.3-Megapixel camera with 28mm wide and f/2.2 lens. Users will also find its connectivity solutions such as WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, standard Micro USB Port, WiFi hotspot and Bluetooth 3.0+ handy. It has 16GB internal storage capacity though on a sad note, users won’t be able to expand it using an external MicroSD card, HTC Sensation XL also supports 3G networks offering up o 14.4Mbps download speed and 5.76Mbps upload speed.
