Trustable sources have confirmed the introduction of a new HTC Pico mid range smart phone into the already competitive Android smart phones market segment. Although initial reports state close resemblance between the new HTC Pico and its sibling HTC Wildfire S, HTC Pico is expected to address many cons associated with its sibling if it intents to outsmart and outperform other Android powered smart phones in the market. Coming as a mid-range Android smart phone, the new HTC Pico is expected to continue the progressive trend of HTC devices.
Several sources have actually termed the new HTC Pico as Wildfire S in disguise considering similar features such as a 3.2inch HVGA display panel, 600MHz processor speed and Android v2.3 Gingerbread operating system. In addition to these features, HTC Pico and Wildfire S both have 5.0megapixel rear camera and 384MB RAM, if you ask me, there must be a catch separating the two devices. It is yet not clear of the tactic used by HTC to unveil Pico; however, we can assume that its market target will mainly dwell where the Wildfire is not available.
Supposedly, HTC Pico only supports 900/2100MHz 3G bands; a feature which puts the American market out of the question; in fact, reports indicate that HTC Pico will aim at the European and Asian markets; however it is understood that these markets are already heavily occupied by its sibling HTC Wildfire. What I love about the new HTC Pico is its ability to support 3G networks hence offering reasonable internet connection speed.
